F.E.A.R – How you can make it work for you!
What is fear?
Literally it is False Evidence Appearing Real
Is it holding you back?
Most often than not fear of the unknown is the underlying factor.
How do we turn this powerful source of energy into fuel we can use?
Here are some strategies you can use:
Use breathing techniques to calm yourself down, use visualisation to stay focused, increase your training to become more confident in your skill, chat to friends in the dojo to stay motivated and find out what is required of you whether it be a tournament (rules), grading (which kata etc). Be aware and recognise the feelings to identify the fear factors. Manage this by discussing your fears with your Sensei, before it becomes a problem.
